MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN

Dan Russo, Resident Counselor |drusso.fcwc@gmail.com| 202-630-1239
My approach to counseling is a collaborative method to identify and facilitate change with my clients. I have a strong belief in the therapeutic relationship and will strive to meet my clients where they are as they encounter issues. We will work together to establish reasonable and attainable goals that will direct our path through therapy. My theoretical orientation draws on elements from person centered, cognitive behavioral, strength based, and solution focused therapies.
I believe that each person is unique, resilient, and holds an intrinsic ability to heal. Life can often feel overwhelming. Counseling provides an opportunity to face life's obstacles with a guide. Often, I draw on my life experience to inform care. I was raised Cristian and I have a large blended family with five children. It's never a dull moment.
I have extensive experience with conflict resolution and crisis management gleaned from a full career as a first responder. I have worked with families from all walks of life and I strive to integrate cultural perspectives into my approach. By reading my profile you have already taken a huge step toward lasting change. Let's take the next step together.
I am currently taking new clients for individual, couples, and family therapy. Both in-person and Telehealth options are available.
