Seeking therapy can be a challenging process. I offer a safe, encouraging, and empathetic space for you to step into growth by eliciting change. Sometimes our behaviors or situations feel unmanageable on our own. But together, we can more easily find opportunities to face these challenges and mental health concerns by expanding our understanding of ourselves, increasing our sense of wellness, and gaining confidence. Max Depree shared that ‘one cannot become what we want to be by remaining what we are.’ I believe this to be true and want to help you create a more manageable life by breaking down negative thoughts and habits, embracing uncertainty, and making new connections.
I have worked in the wellness field for over 15 years assisting individuals using a comprehensive approach, including cognitive behavioral strategies, yoga, mindfulness, and solution-focused modalities. My areas of focus include addictions, depression, stress, anxiety, anger, ADHD, and self-esteem. I try to incorporate physical health by incorporating somatic movement, nutritional education, and mindfulness/meditation strategies to promote and improve mental health.
I will be completing my graduate program with a Master’s of Counseling Degree at University of Cumberlands in 2021. My education also includes a Masters in Health Education and Promotion with Marymount University (2007). I am also a certified Yoga Instructor and Lactation Counselor.
I am supervised by Jennifer Walden, LPC, CSAC Please call me at 703-439-1526, or email me at aandrewsfcwc@gmail.com to begin our collaboration.
