MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN

John M. Howard, Graduate Counselor
Each person sees the world through their own lens and forms a worldview that is a unique combination of their background, personality, and development. I believe in meeting clients where they are and working deeply with them to help bring about an increased awareness of their true self.
Utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach, I strive to integrate the most productive methods for helping adults and children deal with their presenting issue(s). I specialize in counseling adolescents and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, and identity development. I have experience in treating clients with disabilities and clients who have siblings with disabilities, specifically autism spectrum disorder and Klinefelter syndrome. I also have therapeutic and extensive research experience in sports performance counseling, specifically adolescents and young adults dealing with the effects of a concussion or other traumatic brain injuries.
I believe the connection between therapist and client is paramount to creating an open line of communication to ensure trust, reliability, and consistency. I look forward to fostering that connection to help you become more aware of the importance of staying motivated and open-minded.
It would be a privilege to work with you and I greatly look forward to the opportunity. I am supervised by Michael Searby, LPC.
