Hi! I’m Mariam, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at William & Mary and an intern therapist under the supervision of Sara Combos, LPC.
Our work together might focus on overcoming current stressors, healing past emotional wounds, changing unhelpful patterns, or taking a deeper look at your relationships with others and yourself. Sessions are free of judgment, offering an authentic space to explore your emotions and gain clarity. Whether you’re navigating a breakup, identity shifts, career transitions, or the pressure to “have it all together,” I’m here to walk alongside you through life changes and uncertainty. My approach is warm, curious, and sometimes direct - I welcome both humor and vulnerability, and aim to foster meaningful personal growth rooted in resilience.
I work with teens (15+), young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, relationship issues, social stressors, low self-worth, racial/bicultural identity, perfectionism, and life transitions. I’m passionate about supporting young women and BIPOC individuals, using a culturally affirming lens. I draw from attachment theory, EFIT, CBT, ACT, and relational approaches. Together, we’ll develop goals that feel realistic and aligned with your values.
I recognize that starting therapy can be intimidating, and finding the right fit matters. You deserve compassionate care that helps calm the noise, unpack experiences, and build practical ways forward so life feels lighter. If you’re considering beginning this process, I encourage you to reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. Email is the best way to reach me at mariam.fcwc@gmail.com.
