Hi, I am Promise. I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I live and work in Virginia, where I also serve as a Program Director and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with AlmostHome Residential Services, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This experience has shaped my passion for helping people feel seen, valued, and supported. 

I chose counseling because I truly care about people and want to be a safe, supportive presence during difficult times. While my background and expertise is in the ID/DD community, I’m open to working with individuals from all walks of life. I believe counseling should feel like a space where you can be yourself – without pressure or judgment. 

My approach is warm, calm, and genuine. I focus on listening, understanding your story, and moving at a pace that feels right for you. I aim to create an environment where you feel safe, comfortable, and hopeful, while supporting you in recognizing your strengths and navigating challenges. 

Outside of counseling, I enjoy meaningful conversations, learning, and spending time in peaceful spaces that help me recharge.
